Jonathan Richey -
Where else but in Alabama, can someone be a backup walk-on quarterback &

Euclid Rains - Rains, Thomas Euclid, Sr.
(c.1921-2000) — also known as T. Euclid Rains — of Alabama. Member of Alabama
state house of representatives 26th District, 1979-91. Became blind when he lost
both eyes in an accident as a boy. He was the only totally blind baseball coach
in Little League history. Killed in an automobile accident, when the car in
which he was a passenger went off a bridge in heavy rain, near Geraldine, August
27, 2000. Founded the Sand Mountain Broom Company and later expanded his farm to
include cattle, market vegetables, and bees. I met him once at a
beekeepers meeting and he amazed me with his intellect, humor, & wit. He
was blind but could pick you out of a crowd by the sound of your voice.
Was also famously shown on local TV jumping from the high falls arch rock.
Justin McMullins and Zach Sibert, both of Geraldine, were selected to
join cheerleading squads at UA for Fall 2006. We may see them on TV for
years to come.
