Greg Nix, son of Geraldine’s legendary coach Wendell “Chick” Nix, is returning back to Sand Mountain to take the rein of the boys head basketball coach at Boaz High School.  Replacing another legend’s son in Lance Kitchens, son of successful Snead State basketball coach John Kitchens.  Greg come back from Houston County, GA where he was a also a championship caliber coach in the mold of his father.  His teams competed in Georgia’s Region 1-AAAAA championship and the state playoffs four of the last five seasons.   I have known Greg somewhat from playing for his dad, and I only wish him the best of success at Boaz.  Side note, his wife Cheri was also hired at Boaz as a high school science teacher.
